Welcome! I am an Assistant Professor in the English Department at Walla Walla University. I received my Ph.D. and M.A. in English from the University of Notre Dame in 2015 and my B.A. in English, religion, and biblical languages from Walla Walla University in 2007.
My specialties are in early modern English literature and intersections between religion and literature. My research focuses on John Milton and seventeenth-century literature, the history of biblical hermeneutics, and early modern Jewish-Christian relations. I'm currently working on a book, tentatively titled Remembering the Sabbath: Law, Labor, and Liberty in Seventeenth-Century English Literature, which examines depictions of the Sabbath in the period's literature.
At Walla Walla University, I teach courses on Renaissance, medieval, and biblical literature and on literary theory. I also teach composition and a course for the Honors Program.
